Ferocious Beauties at the Pittsburgh Zoo
On November 5th, I spent half my visit at the Pittsburgh Zoo looking at animals who could rip my face off.
In other news about animals who might like to eat me, I saw a male lion sleeping with his feet stuck up in the air. So frighteningly cute.
Then there were sand sharks with rows of teeth that grow back if you yank out the front row of them. Shivers.
Here is one of the two polar bears that are part of an under water tunnel complex. Their exhibit was built so that you could go under ground and see some animals swimming in the water.
This is exciting if the animals actually go for a swim. I mostly saw deserted water and scuba divers cleaning the otter tank.
My companion started shrieking when she saw this skunk. I've always admired skunks for their survival skills. They may be small and stinky, but most predators aren't going to have them for a skunk snack.
Please come back on Monday when I will post the second half of my wild and wonderful zoo adventure.

I love zoos! It's been far too long since I visited one. Thanks for sharing all the photos!

I love animals. I'm always watching nature shows on our public broadcasting network (PBS).
One of my dreams would be to go on a day trip safari in some national park on the continent of Africa. I would wear khaki and everything!
